TITLE: The Meaning of an Expression

[Description] Autumn, sits 
down at a cafeteria table.  She is holding two stuffed dolls, 
Snoopy and Mickey Mouse as she rocks back and forth in her chair. Her intervener, 
sets two cartons of milk and a straw on a table to the left of Autumn.  
She pats Autumn on her left shoulder. 

FEMALE SPEAKER:
Here you go. Here's your milk.

On Screen text: Autumn expresses:  she leans towards 
the intervener, smiles and brings her hand up to her nose

Description: The intervener affirms Autumn's expression by leaning over and 
making sounds near Autumn's ear before walking away to remove her coat.

On Screen text: The intervener affirm's Autumn's expression

[Description] Autumn picks up Mickey, rocks back and forth, and plays 
with the straw.

On Screen text: Autumn touches (points at) and attends to the straw... She will use 
it AND it is an object of reference used to announce the lunch room. She smiles; is she looking forward to drinking the milk?

[Description] She rocks back and forth in her chair.

On Screen text: A big smile and tap on the nose: she might be 
reminiscing about or anticipating her intervener.


[Description] Her intervener arrives back at the table and taps her on her nose.

On Screen text: The intervener affirms the gesture by 
tapping on Autumn's nose, meaning "Here I am!" Observe 
both smiling and the conversation that unfolds.

[Description] Autumn vocalizes and her intervener repeats the vocalization.
