TITLE: Caroline - Importance of Intervention CAROLINE: Hello, my name is Caroline Daley and I'm a parent of a 9 year old Lauren Daley who is deaf-blind from prematurity. I gave birth to Lauren and her twin sister Elizabeth at 23 weeks and all of her subsequent medical issues have been due to the premature birth. The way that we got involved with Intervenors was just out of the absolutely basic need as a parent to take care of our child and nurture our child and at a very young age we had that primal bond where I knew something was more inside of her and I also knew that Paul and I didn't have any idea how to get it out of her and we were very lucky to have the opportunity at a camp with other parents to see an intervener in action with another little boy. And we saw the smiles on his face and we just knew. We literally grabbed each others hand and said, this is it this is what we need we need an intervener with Lauren.
