TITLE: Selective Use of Technology FEMALE SPEAKER: Brock has a lot of Technology that he can use at school he has decided not to use it though this year he's been very...... he wants to use the iPad because it's something that's less bulky, less confining for him versus the CCTV that's set up in the back of the room. When he uses the CCTV its big, he's got, his desk is in the very far back at the room because of the large screen that the the teachers don't want it to interfere with the other children so he's placed in the back of the room and he's decided this year he doesn't want to use it because he doesn't want to sit in the back of the room so he's now moved himself to the front of the room and he's using the iPad which is wonderful but the iPad is only one piece of equipment so there's the matter of do I read a book or do I look at the board with the iPad. Verses maybe another PC technology that is out there for him that he could do both by sitting in the front of the room using this other piece of technology that would bring the board to his laptop in split-screen. The CCTV he feels is.......he's not with his peers because he's got three desks in the back of the room that's separated from the rest of the class and a big bulky monitor that is limiting what he sees in the room because it's that and to use this he tends to stand rather than to sit at his desk. He's not taking the initiative to rather than using just the iPad he's not taking advantage of the other tools that he has at his disposal he's become very complacent and it is just the iPad I will make sure everything works with just the iPad and because he says that nobody questions it and I wish the Teachers were to step up a little bit more and say hey I think you'd do better if you used your CCTV so that she could see the board you can see the book at the same time
