Family Engagement Coordinator Knowledge and Skills Mini-Modules

Family Engagement Coordinator Knowledge and Skills Mini-Modules

These mini-modules, for Family Engagement Coordinators (FECs) who work at state deafblind projects, are a series of lessons that address the recommendations in the publication Recommended Knowledge and Skills for State Deaf-Blind Project Family Engagement Coordinators

Currently, there are seven lessons. More will be added over time. Each mini-module stands alone, and they do not need to be completed sequentially.

FECs need a range of knowledge and skills related to children who are deafblind and technical assistance (TA). Their roles and responsibilities differ depending on

  • Their experience and training
  • The number of hours they work
  • The needs and resources of their state deafblind project

FECs can choose to complete any of the mini-modules they think will be helpful to them.

A family engagement coordinator goes over resources with a mom while a daughter is coloring. A boy looks on.
