After completing the simulation in the slide presentation "Hand-Under-Hand Simulation Assignment," respond to the following questions:

  1. What differences did you notice between hand under hand and hand over hand? As the student? As the intervener?
  2. Why would you choose to use hand-under-hand in your work with a student who is deaf-blind?

  

Takeaway

The hands of a student with deaf-blindness are their eyes and ears. Hand-under-hand technique gives students opportunities to “watch” and “listen.”
