Isaiah is Ready

This 2:42-minute video, produced by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI), is about a teenager named Isaiah. It includes interviews with Isaiah, his mom, and his team members as he prepares for employment and living on his own. Among other things, Isaiah is shown in class, reading braille, practicing street crossing  techniques, flying a plane (!), and playing the organ.

Kudos to Benson Gardner, DPI Communications Officer, and his team, for capturing the essence of deafblindness—its celebrations and challenges—in this wonderful video.

This video was shared with NCDB by the Wisconsin Deafblind Technical Assistance Project, which provides training and support to families and educational teams throughout Wisconsin. Learn more about the project in this article, Deafblind Program Assists Wisconsin Schools.
